Reviewed Article: Effects of intensive lifestyle changes on the progression of mild cognitive impairment or early dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease: a randomized, controlled clinical trial by Dale E. Bredesen, Ann C. Hathaway, Cyrus A. Raji, et al.

Main Argument & Findings:

The article is about a study that was conducted based on the relation of how a healthy and consistent lifestyle can slow the rate of cognitive decline. This study was proven to be true as people who slept well, did brain exercises, and had an healthy diet saw improvement in their daily thinking abilities.

Importance for the Youth:

Although this study was based on adults, it shows us how if we’re consistently doing these actions of just being healthy, at no matter what age, it’ll eventually benefit us in the future. These are good habits to start now!

What I Learned:

I’ve learnt that small daily lifestyle adjustments can have a positive impact on our brain health. A real world example can be doctors telling us to eat brain nourishing foods and doing brain exercises. This makes me aware that I can start improving my brain health now!
